You wake up, surprised to find yourself on a cloud. The sky is green above you with no sun in it, but somehow it is bright. You look down and see a desert. The sand is black, rising and falling in large dunes as large as mountains, creating valleys in between the dunes. Different sparkling colors shone within the sand dunes, creating a black rainbow.

The range of sand mountains led as far as you could see, eventually falling into the horizon where clouds seemed to swallow the landscape. This was all you could see for miles, black dunes surrounding you then disappearing into the cloud covered horizon. You look around in the green sky, noticing there are no clouds around you. A thought runs through your head.  Maybe there are others in the clouds on the horizon. You don’t know why you thought that, but it felt logical, like how objects fall to the ground because of gravity.

You wonder how to get there with the cloud you are on. Should you jump down and walk across the enormous dunes to get there or do you figure out a way to have your cloud sail you there? You are fairly high up from the ground, but you think you can make it. You reach up to scratch your head and ponder this decision, but instead of hair and scalp your fingers find tentacles coming from your head instead of hair. With both hands you panic and search for the hair that should be there, but all you can find are twenty, thick tentacle forming out of your head like limp dreadlocks. You feel your face next to see if it has changed like your hair. Everything is the same as you remember except your nose has become longer and much, much narrower, like the horn on a narwhal. Out of the corner of your eye you find that the skin on your hand is a different color, and your nails aren’t anything you have ever seen before! Black, long talons of nails had a sharp contrast of your powdery green skin. Interest and panic make your heart race.

It was impossible to think how something so crazy could have happened when you took a nap on a rainy day watching one of your favorite movies. This could all be a dream, but it didn’t feel like a dream. There was no way anything could have happened to you because it was one of those “do nothing days” where you lay around all day inside because it was damp and cold and rainy outside, so you didn’t feel like doing anything. You turned on your favorite movie and fell asleep because you felt so comfortable. Now you’re here in this unknown place, in a body that was definitely not yours, and you had no idea to get back to where you needed to be.

Amidst your thoughts you barely notice another cloud coming towards you. There are other green creatures on it. Do you wave them over for help?
